Ive Made A Huge Mistake

Ok so I’ve finished all of Buffy and I feel empty on the inside…. why did they end it!!!!! WHYYYYY… now that it has ended I have no clue what to watch. I think longingly of the days when Buffy’s boobs followed my eyes. They’re magical, they follow me EVERYWHERE! They only did that when she was wearing a sun dress though not all the time… *5 minutes later*

Just finished Angel. I think i might like it better than Buffy, for those of u that haven’t seen it there’s a spoiler coming up.. the whole his son and the Oedipus thing that happens is a little creepy for my taste. but the last season is AMAZING! the series ending alone is amazing. I’m gonna go ahead and buy the comics at some point and read them… but i could never really get into comics, have recently seen the watchmen motion comics though and i have to say the quality of the work is amazing, the pacing and stuff is really well done as well. If someone was to make a motion comic series of the 8th season of Buffy and a 6th season of Angel I think it might be… *orgasmic shudder* I have to do a final thesis for my grad studies (VFX) so I might just do this if the stories are awesome. Back to the topic at hand tough, nothing Joss Whedon has ever done should be cancelled. If I had my way I would give him all my money and let him make episodes of Buffy and Firefly till no one in the world would pay me for sexual favors. In the following skit the role of Kirk Lazarus is played by the execs at Fox and Tugg Speedman is played by Joss Whedon.

Tugg Speedman: This is insane. Are you really going to abandon this movie? We’re supposed to be a unit!
Kirk Lazarus: Suck my unit.

Here the roles are reversed… Fox is Tugg and Whedon is Kirk

Kirk Lazarus: Everybody knows you never go full retard.
Tugg Speedman: What do you mean?

I recently got the box set of x-files, might start watching that… but randomly I started re-watching Two and a half men and I have to say it is quite addictive.. Sometimes the actors piss me off specially Charlie Sheen. He’s not the greatest of actors. He has the whore-mongering down but any scene where he needs to show any kind of emotion he looks like a 5th grade kid trying to…. Wait I got a better one… it’s like Danielle Radcliff in the first harry potter movie (and every subsequent sequel).  OOOOH burn…

Now that March has come around there are a whole batch of new episodes to watch… LIKE THE NEW BATTLESTAR GALACTICA! SERIES FINALE TONIGHT!!! *tear*Lots of finalies are coming up though, lost is just around the corner another show I’m sad to see go but I’m glad they are gonna end it properly instead of ruining it. Just saw Castle (Nathon Fillion) and I think its actually quite good.. Nathon Fillion plays a writer who writes crime novel thingies.. and stuff happens… good stuff… Lie to me is another new show that I’ve gotten into. The opening titles are really good and i think it is now in my 10 list of favourite opening titles (I’ll publish a list soon). Trust Me is another show I’m watching because of the actors i guess… Theres the guy from Ed and Will from Will and grace. Decent show but I read somewhere that Eric McCormack (Will) is signing on to another shows Pilot so that basically means that Trut Me isn’t gonna be renewed or atleast theres a big chance of that happening.

The new season of 24 is also chaning my mind about the series. After the 6th season which BLEW MONKEY BALL CHUNKS… and that was after season 5 .. which blew my mind hole in a good way.  The new season of Damages is okay… its not season 1 its trying hard to be .. but falls short. Its something that I would watch on my third monitor when i have Zoolander playing on my second monitor. Another show that isn’t measuring up of late is Gossip Girl. I am a hetrosexual male. I loved the first season of that show but this season seems to be slowing down and just going through the motions. I am a hetrosexual male. How I Met Your Mother is one of the few shows that has actually gotten funnier this season. Big Bang Theory as well. This season of LOST ….. *wets pants* ….. let me end this on that note… a happy memory.

Ok, TV shows, of late I’ve started watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It’s amazing, it’s the right combination of Cheesiness (which this show has a lot of), some drama and Whedon humor. One of my favorite moments is the first episode of season 4. The Freshman. Buffy’s first day at college, she walks into her room and sees her roommate for the first time. She looks decent enough a little jumpy that can be attributed to the nervousness or excitement. The roommate lets out a sigh of relief “I am really glad they put me someone cool, I can tell you’re someone cool.” Then she proceeds to putting a Celine Deon poster on the wall ‘I can just tell this year is going to be SUPERFUN”. Anyone who has waltz into their dorm freshman year wondering what their roommate is going to be like can relate to this and THANK THE GODS mine did not put up a Celine Deon poster. Although the episode did get Cher stuck in my head (she kept playing it) which I then proceeded to sing loudly for my flat mate. High Fives all round. *SPOILER ALERT* She turns out to be a demon so it’s ok. The Celine Deon listening entity is a demon. YEAY, the human race is saved. Oh and there’s this one time Spike and Willow have that conversation, “It happens to every guy, maybe you were trying too hard…..” Its AWESOME watch it! The final few months of the semester there’s a lot of work so Buffy has been playing non-stop on my second monitor. I’m still watching the rest of Season 4.

In other TV show news, one of my all time favorite shows Dexter seems to be slipping, this season is pretty crappy compared to the first two which were really really good. Miguel Prado, the pregnancy, all pretty crappy, the first two seasons had an over arching story, this one seems to be a little more hap hazard and less thought out. The first and second season were based off books so maybe that’s what is different. I tried reading Darkly Dreaming Dexter but the prose was way too flowery for my taste. Let’s hope it fixes itself over the next few episodes, they’ve already aired but I haven’t gotten around to watching them. Another TV show I like has changed, thankfully for the better, Prison Break. The first two seasons were good TV, the third was pure garbage like toxic waste falling on little bunnies and not giving them super powers. The fourth and current season seems to be going in the right direction. 6 more episodes are going to air in April (I think). They have added two more hours to this season and signs are pointing to the show is ending which is a good thing. End it properly; don’t drag out something good till it ends up like season 8 of That ’70s Show. 30 Rock is still awesome, OOOH andddd FLIGHT OF THE CHONCORDS season 2!!!! Lost starts up again in Jan as does Damages. Damages was one of those shows that sneaks up on you and bites your ass, and somehow you like it… it’s very confusing. I went out on a limb and bought the first season on Blu-ray. Turns out it was really good. I took it home with me and my parents liked it too. It’s intelligent, the acting is superb and I like it. It’s a law drama thing and it deals with a single case over the course of the season. There’s a whole lot more to talk about and I have some work to get done. On the bright side there’s a 24 hours plane ride and I can maybe get to writing a review of a show. Maybe Arrested Development.

I’ve Made a Huge Mistake.

I was watching Chuck and first off, I love the show it appeals to the geek in me and the pubescent boy (Yvonne Strahovski who plays Sarah) which we all know guys don’t grow out of till about 1 month after death. They had a slow motion sequence of Sarah Walker, hair flipping smiling blah blah blah (*drool*) and suddenly I recognized the song that was playing in the background. FOUX DE FA FA by Flight of the Conchords *little girl screams*. Best 2 minutes of television evahhh. If you have not seen or heard Flight of the Conchords you should go ahead and do that. Its okay I’ll wait.

Also was watching Eureka on SciFi and am sick and tired of this entire product placement thing they have going on. A random cut of Degree for Men in the middle of the show. WHY you might ask, well Carter shaves using Degree for Men. The Idea of product placement has been around for ages and since TV is all about the advertising why not have brands all over the place right! I understand the reason why; I’m not saying that they shouldn’t have any branding whatsoever. They should just handle it better, 30 Rock had an episode dedicated to it. Skits based on the GE Tri-vection something rather oven. HOW AMAZING DOES THAT SOUND! Watch the episode it’s really good, Tina Fey’s SNL days really show in the writing. Also the show Studio 60 on Sunset Strip brought up this topic and they handled it really well. I am from now on boycotting Eureka till they decide to drop this whole crappy Degree for men on the show.

Ive also finished watching two TV shows produced by a Mr. Judd Apatow. Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared. Both great shows, both have his usual cast many of whom you know today Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, james Franco etc. etc. To all us early 20 somethings these shows are the kind of shows we grew up watching and I think we should all watch them. What shows did you watch growing up, after school maybe? Wonder Years, Friends, He-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, 3rd Rock From the Sun, Dexters Lab, Dharma and Greg, Fraiser, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Home Improvement, Just Shoot Me, Malcolm in the Middle, Roswell, That 70’s Show! these were both shows that are along the same lines.
